I have the Clifford 50.7 security system with autostart, tilt/hood/trunk sensors, which would be like the viper and probably similar to this Japanese one you mention. It also comes with dual stage shock sensors. To do the install, they use a donar key from another type of vehicle that matches the codes for your car. The Clifford then bypasses your factory smart key for the doors, with the exception of the ignition. Therefore you unlock/disarm using the Clifford remote, and you open the door and get in your car, but unless you have your smart key with you, the car's ignition will not turn over...you need to carry both 'keys' with you. To autostart your car, you press auto-start on the Clifford. The car starts, but because the Clifford system doesn't bypass the smart key for the ignition, you have to press on the brake which stops the car from running and then you turn the key over again (the ignition is recognizing your smart key now)...what this means is to use your autostart, you have to actually start your car twice. I got this installed at the dealership as they had donar keys, and because if something went wrong with the install they would have to cover the inspection of the electrical system...I paid way too much as you would normally expect from the dealer, but now I don't have to worry that it will have a problem...they also warranty the Clifford system they installed for 3 years under the new car warranty, so that was a plus considering all other autostarts would only be covered for less than a year maybe...and there are oten problems with...
