“He was not from around here, he had a Cumbrian or North of England accent and was definitely a professional.”
Yvonne says she is often the target of thieves.
She said: “I have been robbed several times before.
“I don’t keep expensive jewellery at the front of the shop because I am on the main road so I have become an easy target. It is a shame and can be very frustrating.
“I have owned the shop for around 36 years and it is frustrating to be targeted by professional thieves who are not even from here so it can be hard for the police to trace them.”
The shop has also been vandalised four times in the last couple of years.
She added: “I have had windows smashed and the alarm set off before. It unfortunately is something that happens fairly regularly.”
Police are now urging members of the public to contact them if they saw the man who is described as aged around 50, six foot tall with a stocky build and a weathered complexion.
